This workshop is for the maker who is starting out — someone who has just unboxed a printer, or is still hesitating over buying one. The problem is never the printer: it is that nobody tells you what each setting actually changes, and the tutorials contradict each other. Here you do not sit through a lecture. We print, we fail on purpose, and we look at why. A first layer that will not stick, corners lifting, strings between parts, a surface rough on one side only, a part that snaps along the layers: every defect has a precise cause and a setting that fixes it. You leave with the part you set up yourself — and above all with the skill that is missing when you learn alone: being able to look at a failed print and know what to change.

Common questions
I have just bought a printer and everything fails. Is this for me?
That is exactly the profile. Most beginner failures come down to three or four settings, always the same ones. We go through them together on a real machine, with your own parts if you bring them, and you leave knowing how to set them.
I don't have a printer yet — is it worth it?
Yes, and it is the best moment. Half a day before buying stops you choosing a machine that does not suit what you want to make, and you will know what to expect. Many people leave with a clear idea of the model that fits them.
Half day at €80 or full day at €140?
The half day covers the machine and the settings: that is what unblocks most people, and it is enough if you print models found online. Take the full day if you also want to draw your own parts in Fusion 360 instead of printing other people's.
How is this different from the €390 professional training?
Different content, different audience. This workshop teaches you to use a printer and print well. The professional training covers design for FDM — tolerances, anisotropy, material choice under technical constraint, moving to production — is prepared in advance around your own parts, and takes place at your premises for your team.
At the workshop or by video call?
At the workshop in Morsang-sur-Orge, machines and material provided: that is the most effective format, you handle things yourself. By video call, we work directly on YOUR machine, which is often the real need once it is already installed at home.
Can we come as a group?
Yes, up to six people. The rate is per person. For an established group — a fablab, an association, a family — write to us and we will adjust.
Do I need to bring anything?
At the workshop, nothing: machines, filament and workstations are provided. Do bring your failed parts if you have any, they make the best case studies. By video call, your printer and your computer.
And if I get stuck a few weeks later?
You leave with our contact details. A question that takes five minutes to answer gets answered by email, at no charge. It is not a contractual support service, it is simply what we do.
