The workshop takes up UV printing: your artwork on almost anything

A UV printer has arrived at the workshop. It prints in colour, in white and in relief directly onto an object — yours, or a part we have just 3D printed. Here is what it changes, what it costs, and what is not possible yet.

3D-printed enclosure marked in UV: white logo, pictogram, QR code
What the machine adds to our 3D parts: a logo, a pictogram, a code, in colour and with no label. Illustrative render.

Why a UV printer in a 3D printing workshop

For a year now, one request has come up in almost every project: “and can you put our logo on it?” On an enclosure, a plate, a bracket, a gift. Until now the answer was no, or a stuck-on label, or a painter. A 3D-printed part comes off the machine plain, in the colour of its material; everything it ought to carry — a reference, a pictogram, a logo — had to be done somewhere else.

UV printing answers exactly that question. The head sprays ink onto the object, a lamp sets it instantly, and the result holds on plastic, metal, glass, wood and ceramic. In colour, in white, and up to 5 mm of relief, over 330 × 420 mm flat and on cylinders. The workshop is fully equipped — rotary module, transfers, every ink — and ready to produce. The file replaces the tooling: one piece or a hundred, and each one can be different.

What you can ask for today

Marking your 3D parts: logo, reference, batch number, instructions, front panel. From the 3D quote, a card leads to the UV quote; the marking is added to the price of the part.

Printing on your own object: coaster, plaque, case, leather notebook, slate, acrylic panel, aluminium plate — anything with a flat face, less than 60 mm tall and fitting within 330 × 420 mm; mugs, bottles and tumblers on the rotary module (Ø 45–100 mm, full wrap); and everything else by UV transfer. You drop the object off at the workshop or you ship it. Ninety examples with their prices, and fifty-six Christmas gift ideas.

Short runs: promotional items, signage, corporate gifts personalised with each person's name. Several pieces print side by side in a single pass, and business rates step down from 10 pieces.

All of it through a one-screen quote page: four choices, the price appears, you send your artwork. No payment at this stage: we check the artwork and the object, you receive the image preview before printing within 24 working hours, then the payment link.

What it costs

The price depends on the printed area, the finish and the quantity — not on a volume, as it does in 3D printing. A wooden keyring on its own, or a logo on a part we print: around €23, preparation included. Ten keyrings: €68. An A4 aluminium plate in white + colour: €31. The same in 2 mm 3D relief: €124. The Prices page explains the method, the guide explains the finishes.

What is not possible

Silicone and rubber: the ink will not hold. The dishwasher: the ink sits on the surface and hot cycles wear it away — wash by hand. And any object heavier than 1.5 kg. Everything else can be done: mugs and bottles on the rotary module, curved or oversized objects by UV transfer.

Photographs of real pieces will come with the first prints; until then, the illustrations in the guide show the principle behind each finish. A question, an object to test? Write to us, with a photo.
