Material
PC — Polycarbonate
Impact and temperature. For when the 90 °C of ABS is no longer enough.
Use it for
- Machine guards, covers near a heat source
- Parts taking repeated impacts
- Mounts and guides for ovens and drying tunnels
What it will not do
- Difficult to print: more machine time, so more expensive
- Moisture-sensitive, drying is mandatory
- Clear grades are never optically clear in FDM

What we have learned using it
Printed polycarbonate does not have the clarity of an extruded sheet: the layer lines scatter the light. For a window or a viewing port this is the wrong process, and we say so beforehand.
