Material

PETG — Glycol-modified polyethylene terephthalate

The everyday functional choice. If you are hesitating, it is probably this one.

Use it for

  • Parts handled daily: handles, mounts, clips
  • Anything exposed to moisture or steam
  • Bins, storage, workshop organisers

What it will not do

  • Will not survive repeated dishwasher cycles
  • Dulls in sunlight over time
  • Slightly less crisp surface finish than PLA

What we have learned using it

Its real quality: it bends before it breaks. A clip in PLA snaps at the first load; the same clip in PETG takes it. That is why it goes into most of the functional parts we produce.

Consider instead

  • ABS — if it gets hotter than 70 °C
  • PA6-CF — if it really takes load

Names are the manufacturer's own and serve as the ordering reference. The colour runs through the material, it is not painted on — swatches are indicative, a physical sample prevails.

Values measured by the filament manufacturer on standardised specimens. A printed part will differ with orientation, infill and settings: we validate on a test part on request.

Technical data sheets (TDS) from the filament manufacturer, Bambu Lab, in English, as published on its store on 6 September 2026: mechanical and thermal properties measured on specimens, drying and printing conditions. It is the document to attach to a technical file; we also send it with the order on request.
