PVA — Polyvinyl alcohol
Water-soluble support. It is not part of the part — it is what makes the part possible.
Use it for
- Internal cavities that cannot be cleared mechanically
- Overhangs on a visible face, where a support mark would show
- Closed geometries, channels, undercuts
What it will not do
- Absorbs moisture from the air: storage and drying are demanding
- Adds print time and a soaking step
- Reserved for cases where conventional support will not do
