What it is for
- A part that fits out a counter without drilling or gluing
- Hold a short run without tying up stock
- Match the exact dimension of your assembly, not a catalogue standard
Counter cable grommet with flap. It is the part that fits out a counter without drilling or gluing — built for your assembly, not for an average one.
Without a 3D file, send a dimensioned drawing, photos with a scale or information about the part. These allow an initial assessment; further measurements or tests may be needed. Any design work is specified in the quote before you agree.
Material selection depends on temperature, loads, exposure and part dimensions. We agree the suitable material and process with you before production. A material change may affect price and lead time; the quotation reflects these choices.
Feasibility is assessed from your intended use and documents. The quote specifies design work, checks and any tests needed. A replacement part must be validated for its use; resemblance alone does not guarantee the original properties.
The visuals illustrate the type of part being considered. Geometry, dimensions, material and expected appearance are agreed before production. Any design, preparation and manufacturing costs are stated in the quote.
The three materials we recommend
| PETG | the default functional choice. Holds to 70 °C, flexible enough to take a knock without snapping, and it does not crack the way PLA does. |
|---|---|
| ABS | the first real thermal step, 90 °C. It is also the material that sands and glues best when the part has to be finished after printing. |
| PLA | the finest detail of the twenty, and the crispest sharp edges. Indoors only: it deforms from 55 °C and turns brittle after a few months in the sun. |
Click a material to open its page and download the manufacturer's datasheet (PDF).
Counter cable grommet with flap in PETG: temperature resistance 70 °C; will not survive repeated dishwasher cycles; other option, ABS if it gets hotter than 70 °C.
Another material is possible: tell us the real constraint (temperature, UV, impact, contact) and we will suggest one.
What we commit to
| Unit volume up to 350 × 350 × 350 mm |
| From 1 to several hundred parts |
| Usual tolerance ±0.3 mm, ±0.15 mm on request |
| PETG recommended — 20 materials available |
Frequently asked
Can you modify the original part?
Yes, and that is often the real benefit: thickening a rib that kept breaking, moving a hole, changing a diameter. On a mould, the same correction costs money and takes weeks.
I have no 3D file — is that a problem?
No. A dimensioned drawing, a photograph taken square-on with a ruler beside the part, or the part itself sent by post is enough. We rebuild the geometry and submit the file to you before anything is made.
What if the material you recommend does not suit?
Tell us the real constraint — temperature, UV, contact with a product, load — and we change material. Twenty are available, from PLA to carbon-filled PPS.
